Dancing en pointe, or pointe work, is performed by standing on the tips of the toes during ballet moves. Dancers wear hard-toed and stiff-shanked point shoes. This class requires proven strength and skill. The instructor will advise parents when a student has the necessary strength and maturity to go en pointe, with physical development considered before age. Pointe class may be taken only with the permission of the instructor.
We also offer pre-pointe to further develop and strengthen the muscles necessary to go en pointe.
