Improv & Composition

Improv

Overview

Improv & Composition explores the ability to move to the music without prior preparation and trains dancers to trust their own intuitive choices. Instruction focuses on breaking down the boundaries of each dancer and making them confident in what the music makes them feel. Dancers will learn and practice specific aspects of improvisation which they can continue to use any time they are asked to spontaneously move both across the floor and in the center of the room. Improv builds strong choreography skills, heightens sequencing in the brain and creates more expressive movement.

Please note: Students are placed according to previous training, potential and proficiency. Our goal is to have each student progress at their individual pace
