LINX Dance Studio Wellness Week

Enter the new year by learning new tips and techniques to help keep your dancers' body healthy through the upcoming season. This week will contain Injury Prevention Seminars, Nutritional Seminars, and workout opportunities. Join us for a week of well-being!

Note: Open to all dance families. Children who are here for classes at the following scheduled times will attend the seminars. Dancers not typically here for classes during those times are welcome to register for their allotted age group.

Monday, January 7th
Injury Prevention with Violet Chang

Violet Chang earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Boston University. Shortly after graduating she completed a 2-year Residency and Fellowship program in manual therapy at the Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy in Woburn, MA. She is a Graston Technique Provider and provides video gait analysis for runners. Violet has experience working as an adolescent swim team coach, swim instructor, and in the specialty running shoe industry.

Violet grew up swimming and running competitively. She has run 10 marathons and has run her hometown favorite, the Boston Marathon 3 times. She has competed in 3 of the 6 major world marathons and one day hopes to complete the other 3 international world majors as well! Violet also enjoys doing triathlons during the summers, and competes in ultra distance relay races for the travel, adventure and fun!

When she isn't working you can find her outdoors likely running with her best 4-legged running bud "Colt the border collie." As an endurance athlete, she understands the importance of strengthening, conditioning, and cross training to reduce the effects of repetitive stress on the bodies of athletes. Violet is excited and passionate about helping girls and women excel at their sport, manage their day-to-day lifestyles, and chase after and achieve their goals!

Nutrition Seminar with Anthony Passamonte CSCS
Performance and Lifestyle Coach

I have passion that is driven by me loving what I do. I believe that everyone is driven by something deeper than themselves. If I can uncover that through supportive and inspiring high intensity training, changes will happen. I believe in achieving consistency, commitment and accountability with my clients and do this by keeping the energy high while keeping a full engagement in everything that I do. From nutrition to actual training, I focus on the full balance of the mental, emotional and physical side of coaching.

I am currently the strength and conditioning coach for New England Academy of gymnastics located in Marlborough, MA and owner of Live, Life, Grit LLC. I am also a personal trainer at Life Time Athletic in Framingham. In addition, I speak at various USA gymnastic seminars and workshops, speaking on topics ranging from nutrition to performance. In 2015, I was a finalist in Mens Health Next Top Trainer and have appeared on the “Broken Skull Challenge" with Stone Cold on CMT.

I have worked in the industry as a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the NSCA for over 10 years and have certifications and course work in Precision Nutrition, motivational interviewing and neurological performance training. In addition, I am a Spartan SGX coach and certified Spartan Edge instructor, which helps to develop youth athletes through grit and perseverance.

I work with youth to adults on performance and lifestyle changes to help establish healthy and happy lives.

Hailing from North Attleboro, Ashley moved to Boston directly after finishing university with a degree in Journalism and dreams of becoming a news anchor. Her passion for fitness eventually led her to get certified and start teaching any class she could learn (e.g. dance, tabata, bootcamp). She’s now a dual threat in both of B/SPOKE's R/DE and TRAIN classes. Turns out she’s also a natural at running, qualifying last year in her first Boston Marathon ever. She now lives in Chestnut Hill and spends a lot of her free time studying for Nutrition School as part of her bigger dream to become a Holistic Health Coach. It takes a lot of effort to study so much so she keeps herself sane with good ole guilty pleasures in the form of vegan cupcakes with vanilla frosting and binging Dateline episodes.
