Participation Registration Guidelines from Turn it Up for Title Competitions

Title awards are given out at both regional and national competitions. Title contestants must be entered in the “competitive” category and must submit 1 SOLO to be considered for the title. These routines must already be entered for competition.

Each title contestant must take center-stage and introduce themselves to our judges panel. Their introduction can include saying their name, age, hometown, and performance piece as well as any other information they would like to share. NOTE: PLEASE DO NOT MENTION YOUR STUDIO NAME. This introduction should be no shorter than 15 seconds and no longer than 30 seconds. Please practice and time your introductions. Title Contestants are eligable for over alls.

Contestants must submit 1 (only one) recent and professional 8×10 headshot in color. Headshots must be mailed in to 36 Finnell Drive Unit 11, Weymouth, MA 02188 AT LEAST 1 WEEK PRIOR TO COMPETITION and are not guaranteed to be returned. If we do not receive a title photo, unfortunately a score of 0 will be given for that portion of the title score.

The title score will be a combination score of the contestant’s solo score, their headshot and their introduction for a combination score of up to 600 points (300 for their performance, 150 for their introduction, and 150 for their photo).

Please note, regional title winners may not compete for another regional title in that same season. Only regional & national preliminary round title winners will be invited to compete for the national title.

There will be a Mister and Miss Turn It Up Dance Challenge awarded in Mini, Junior, Teen and Senior Teen age groups as well as 2nd and 3rd runner up (see awards for more info). Any title contestant must score at least 525 to place for title. Dancer in the Tiny age category are not eligible to run for title.
